Project Yes!

The fifth annual SaratogaArtsFest will take place from June 9-12, 2011, in venues throughout Saratoga Springs, NY. Project YES! will again be a significant part of the weekend-long festival.

Project YES!—Youth Experiencing SaratogaArtsFest—is a collaboration of SaratogaArtsFest, local school districts, and other local education groups in the area. Project YES! is designed to provide accessibility to the arts for young people and to encourage families to explore and discover arts offerings in Saratoga Springs during the SaratogaArtsFest and year-round.

As part of Project YES!, SaratogaArtsFest will give away admission packages to students. Beginning April 11th, students can apply for free admission packages through the Project YES! program. Applications must be submitted by April 29th and students are notified by May 9th.

Project YES! provides the following to awarded students:

  • Access to every event during the festival weekend
  • Discounts at local establishments during the festival weekend
  • Exclusive backstage meetings with participating artists
  • Year-round discounts and benefits at local businesses and arts organizations
  • SaratogaArtsFest cinch bag! (to first 100 who pick up their packages)
  • Discounted admission for one accompanying adult

The complimentary admission package provides the student with access to the full array of events during the four-day festival. Admission pass holders are also eligible for discounts at many local DBA businesses over the weekend. Winners are able to purchase a $15 Basic Admission package for an accompanying adult (regular price of $35) or 2 single event tickets.

Additionally…Winners receive year-round discounts and benefits at local businesses and arts organizations! This benefit is specifically designed to allow for exploration and discovery of the arts in Saratoga Springs beyond the festival weekend.

Sample events by and for young children

SaratogaArtsFest 2011 will offer an extensive lineup of performances, workshops, and exhibits for young people covering music, dance, theater, visual art, literature, and more. In addition to local, regional, and national artists, the schedule will include performances by a range of local student groups, including the Empire State Youth Orchestras’ Jazz Ensemble 2, the Flying Kite Children’s Theatre, the Saratoga Children’s Theatre, the Saratoga City Ballet, Saratoga Springs High School Symphonic Band, Saratoga Springs High School Percussion Ensemble, Saratoga Springs High School SCHWA Club, Division Street Elementary School Drama Club, the Saratoga Children's Chorus and a number of performances by Waldorf School students.

The entire schedule spanning four days is exciting with many events by and for children!
